Wsaz weather tony cavalier12/15/2023 While a late day thundershower is likely to skim Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky on its way to fading into West Virginia, most will go rain free. Highs will crest in the 90-95 degree range with official readings on the high ground coming in 3 degrees lower than those in many downtown locations. Then a full day of hot, hazy sunshine will ensue. Wednesday will dawn comfy enough as temperatures start in the bearable 60s. Fair) amounted to a soothing night to listen to Lee Greenwood or the varoom of Motocross. A fiery sunset along the midways at Cottageville (Jackson WV Jr Fair) and McArthur (Vinton County Jr. Last night featured “fair” weather at the fair as temperatures settled back into the 70s. But sticking to the traditional 90-degree temperature as recorded at local airports, we have had a mere FEW days in that simmering zone. That would refer to the heat index (HI), which is the poor man’s measure of discomfort. The natural measure for heat has always been 90 degrees, when it’s the total package of heat and humidity that sets the bar for feeling uncomfortable. (WSAZ) - So far, the summer of 2023 has featured only a handful of truly hot days. By Monday, we’ll be back to more seasonable and pleasant weather, with sunshine yet temperatures staying in the mid-80s.Ĭopyright 2023 WSAZ. It’s a bittersweet way to end the heat wave, taking up our weekend with the storm threats. Sunday’s another day of occasional bands of showers and storms, further holding temperatures to the mid-80s. It’s afternoon arrival will not only elevate the risk of severe weather with this one, but also allow temperatures to race to the 90s one more time before cooling down in the thunder. Saturday will bring an actual system our way, providing more numerous showers and storms and an eventual change in the weather pattern. Stay hydrated, take more frequent breaks from the heat, and access to air conditioning is best. There’s still a shot some of us are kept back from the brink by way of the isolated thunderstorm, but at this point it’s best to get those hot-weather safety tips in practice. Even the nights will be uncomfortably stuffy, with temperatures still in the 80s well past sunset.įriday features the peak of the heat, with many folks registering 95-100° temperatures, not including the added influences of humidity. There’s a storm system moving through the Great Lakes to our north and it will be extending enough influence locally to provide support for a few of those storms both today and tomorrow, but most of the weather conversation these days will be about the heat. In this scenario, these downpours would be passing and brief, but often part of a towering thunderstorm that plods along through the humidity. During those times of max heating this afternoon, conditions will be ripe for a few isolated thunderstorms to be forced into being, as “nature’s air conditioners”. Expect hours of sunshine to push temperatures across the 90-degree mark and keep it right around there for several hours this afternoon. Now that dome of heat in the Deep South will finally surge northward and get us a little taste of what everyone else has been feeling. It’s even technically been below average (albeit slightly). (WSAZ) - While so much of the country (and world) see unusually hot weather, we’ve been getting off relatively easily in the local area. Winamp virtual audio cable12/15/2023 All components were well-warmed up and always switched on and active at the same time during the test.Ībove: The complete review system: Magnepan MG3.6R magnetostatic speakers, Jeff Rowland Model 6 and BPS 6 poweramps and battery power supplies, JeffRowland Coherence II battery powered preamp, Mark Levinson no.390S CD player, Mark Levinson no.360S DAC. To make the comparisons even more honest, I used a crappy powercord for the PC, in order to bring it closer to the simple wall wart powersupply that the Macbook uses. Even though I have two sets of the same interlink, they are different lengths and do sound different, therefore I continually swapped the same interlink. The same interlink was used into the same preamp inputs. The same goes for the USB cable (Transparent). In all cases the same digital coaxial cable (Wireworld Gold Starlight III+) was used and was swapped bewteen EVO, Ayre and EMU. FLAC conversion and playback was also tested but is discussed in another section below. This means using kernel streaming if available. Playback was always in native samplerate, no upsampling used, and always using Wave Out (not Directsound) with the most direct route in the playback app’s settings. I took Lossless audio out of the equation because of my preference for WAV/AIFF. Also used in a later stage were various 24/96 LP recordings that I had made myself. Music consisted of 4 carefully selected WAV files, ripped from CD with iTunes, then copied via the network to the PC. On top of the PC is the HiFace EVo as well as the Arcam rDAC. The PC is pretty much up to date and has very decent specs (Intel 2 core 6600, 2,4GHZ, 4GB Ram, XP SP3). And trust me, highend it is! At various aspects it even trumps my trusty Mark Levinson no.360S DAC!Ībove: The PC housing the EMU1212M PCI soundcard from which I use the s/pdif output. S/Pdif out from the EMU1212M PCI soundcard to the ML no360S dac The audio was taken out of the computers in three different manners: I used toslink, s/pdif coaxial and USB for data transfer. In order to get audio out of these computers, I used all methods that I had at hand, both internal PCI card and external interfaces. So, I used both a Macbook Pro and a full size PC running Windows XP. This report is neccesarily a little lengthy and possibly even confusing but I’ll try and make this matter as clear and understandable as possible. Not only did I compare Mac to PC but also many different playback applications on either platform as well as a two sound enhancement add-ons for iTunes named Amarra and Pure Music. The above picture looks very cozy but this really was one majorly exhausing test. Flair's use has made it a tradition for fans to yell his signature "Wooo!" whenever any wrestler uses it.Ī variation of the aforementioned chop, the wrestler runs and lunges forward in a crossbody-esque fashion while crossing their arms in an "X" fashion and then hits a double backhand chop to the opponent. Many wrestlers use this chop, often referring to it as a knife edge chop, but it is best known for being used by Ric Flair. The act of a wrestler to slap the chest of his opponent with the palm of the hand using a backhand swing. The Bronco buster is normally treated as having comic or sexual connotations rather than as a legitimately painful move, the latter particularly true during some matches between female wrestlers. Goldust added pelvic thrusts to his version of the Bronco buster. In the Bronco buster, an opponent is seated in the corner of the ring while the attacking wrestler jumps in the corner, straddling his or her opponent's body, and bounces up and down on the opponent's chest. This move was named after its most notable user, Sting, and is also commonly used by Shelton Benjamin.Ī vertical splash is a jumping attack made against a standing opponent, landing against the opponent's upper body while remaining upright, and bringing them down to the mat into a vertical splash ( seated senton) position. This is an attack in which a wrestler runs at an opponent, who is upright in the corner, then jumps forward so that he splashes his whole body stomach-first, squashing his opponent between him and the turnbuckle. This variation was first made popular by Stone Cold Steve Austin. This move, popularized and subsequently named after Lou Thesz, sees the attacking wrestler jump towards a standing opponent and knock him over, resulting in the opponent lying on his back with the attacking wrestler sitting on the opponent's chest, pinning him in a body scissors.Ī variation involves the attacking wrestler jumping on a running opponent, then repeatedly striking the opponent in the face while in the mounted position. There is also an aerial variation, known as a flying crossbody, where wrestler leaps from an elevated position towards the opponent. This is normally used by bigger, heavier wrestlers.Īlso known as crossbody block, this is a maneuver in which a wrestler jumps onto his opponent and lands horizontally across the opponent's torso, forcing them to the mat and usually resulting in a pinfall attempt. The wrestler charges into an opponent in the corner of the ring without leaving their feet, crushing them into the turnbuckle. On some occasions a wrestler has a short running start before executing the move. This move was a trademark of Haystack Calhoun and has been a mainstay in the movesets of heavier/larger wrestlers. The big splash involves a wrestler jumping forward and landing stomach-first across an opponent lying on the ground below. It is executed from a running or jumping position, using momentum and weight to impact the opponent, and most variations can seamlessly transition into a pin. Big Van Vader frequently uses this move as a counter to charging opponents, as well as combining it with a running avalanche in the corner, where it is referred to as a Vader Splash.īody press For aerial variations, see Wrestling aerial techniques#Splash.Īlso known as a splash or body block, a body press involves an wrestler falling against the opponent with the core of their body. It is often used to escape a bearhug hold. The attacking wrestler slaps both ears of an opponent simultaneously with the palms of his hands, distorting their balance. Also known as a Reverse Elbow, in this attack, the wrestler stands with his back to a running opponent and thrusts out an elbow, into which the opponent runs. Norweigan epic kids12/15/2023 If you book using this promotion, you'll be responsible for the gratuities on the dining and drink package. Through this program, guests receive free open bar, a discount on excursions, some free internet, and some meals at their specialty restaurants. Norwegian Cruise Line offers a Free at Sea fare. Suites or specialty rooms may have higher rates. The table below will help you understand what you might spend onboard a Norwegian ship.īase Daily Gratuities* (Per Person Per Day) In other words, if the cruise fare is $1,000 per person, you might spend between $250 and $400 on extra expenses. Typically guests can expect to spend about 25 - 40% of the cost of the cruise on onboard expenses. In addition, guests can also have to pay for things like gratuities and tips. Even though a lot is included in the base cruise fare, you may still spend money on things like spa treatments, specialty dining, drinks, and excursions. Onboard CostsĪnother way to gauge the cost of a cruise is to consider how much you'll spend on board. Typically newer ships cost more, so a cruise on Norwegian Epic will likely be cheaper than on Norwegian Escape. These typically cost about $100 - $350 per person per day.Ĭruise pricing is dynamic and varies for each specific sailing based on factors such as departure point, ports of call, and time of year. Mainstream cruise lines cater to a variety of guests, hoping to provide something for everyone. On the Escape, only 57% of the activities are included, meaning you might spend more money while on board. On the Epic, 59% of the activities below are included in the cruise fare. Below you'll see a list of some of the major features on these ships. If you like ships without extra charges or exclusive areas, this might be a better choice since everyone will have access to these areas.īoth ships have lots of activities to keep you busy throughout your cruise. There are fewer exclusive pools and hot tubs on the Escape. Norwegian Escape has fewer pools than the Epic and fewer hot tubs. 2 of the pools and 4 of the hot tubs are exclusive access, which means there's either an extra charge to access them or you need to book a certain class of cabin to have access to them. Tired of loud kids and splashing? 1 of the pools and 2 of the hot tubs are adults only. The Norwegian Epic has a total of 5 pools and 11 hot tubs. That being said, a quick dip in the pool can be nice on a hot day. You would have a much better bet choosing a resort with a huge pool complex. We're a firm believer that if you want to just spend all day for 7 days in a pool, a cruise isn't for you. The problem is that with thousands of people on a ship, there's not always room. Nothing beats relaxing by a pool with a nice drink in hand as you feel the fresh sea breeze pass by you. More of the dining options are included in the base cruise fare, potentially saving you money. If you're looking to avoid extra money while on board, the Epic might be a better choice then the Escape. It has 14% more dining options than the Epic. If you like having a variety of places to eat, the Escape might be a better choice. 7 of these restaurants are complementary and the other 18 have an additional fee. Some of its popular venues are Garden Cafe, Le Bistro French, and Teppanyaki. The other 14 options have an additional fee. Of those options, 7 are complementary, or included with your cruise fare. The Epic has 22 different dining options like Teppanyaki, Le Bistro French, and Moderno Churrascaria. Some of the largest ships use innovative and architecural features to feel more spacious like neighborhoods and zones to spread the crowd out.įood is a big part of any cruise, and the ship you choose can make a huge difference in your food experience. This doesn't always mean that you're going to feel packed like a sardine on the ship. When you compare the total tonnage of the ship to the number of passengers, or what we call the "Space Ratio," the Epic has less space per person compared to the Escape. Norwegian Epic holds about the same number of passengers as the Escape based on double occupancy (two people per room). Compared to the Norwegian Escape, the Epic is 6% smaller in terms of overall tons. Coming in at 1,081 ft long and 171 ft wide, it's roughly the length of 3 football fields, as wide as 3.2 tractor trailers and the same height as a 14 story building. The Epic is considered a large size ship. It's 5 years older than the Escape, which was built in 2015 and renovated in 2019. Wizard with gun12/15/2023 Use the implement while casting and switch to the gun when it looks like you don't need to sling spells any more. You could always keep an implement in one slot and a gun in the other. Whether that's an issue depends on your play style. This may delay your spellcasting, causing complications if you need to get a spell off quickly. Guns provide better damage, but there's a significant recovery period after each shot during which you cannot use abilities/cast spells. Besides - with a chanter you can buff the reloading speed too if you want. Point is: You are better off just using spells for damage and blast + autoattack, and if you do decide to make a wizard based on weapon damage - melee is probably better than ranged (again due to reload speed).Įven if it doesn't reduce reload speed it surely reduced the cooldown - and the cooldown is typically much longer than the actual reload for the shot, so I don't see why that isn't viable. The whole point of 0% recovery + max action point gunslinger / ranged wizard is to reduce reload speed. The Idea of a ranged wizard is fun imo, but if dex does not reduce reload speed the entire idea is imo ruined. So I'm rerolling a melee wizard instead now. So the plan was to use spells for buffs that benefited ranged combat, and using weapon for damage instead of spells and instead use the leftover spells for CC. However - I found out that increased action speed from dex does NOT REDUCE RELOAD SPEED. (For whatever illogical reason the devs decided this). The plan was to play a gunslinger (though currently used arbalest) wizard that relied on the Wizard buffs (eldritch aim, defensive buffs, crit buff and ultimately combat form for another +20 accuracy and dex) to create an arcane archer of sorts which could also use CC. I made a wood elf /w marksman and gunner with 20dex using robe only for 0% recovery penalty. Since the OP is asking about the best weapons for wizards, I'd have to say it's the types that have talents only wizards can take- the blast talents. Etc.īut anyway, I only mention minor blights because it synergizes with wand talents. Ciphers get a paralyze and aoe stuck at spell level 2. Scrolls are available to anyone with a decent lore skill, for example. There's no reason to put that all on your wizard if you have other means available. Well, there are multiple ways to control enemies. Well, if you have second wizard you can just give him the job of controlling enemies at the start of the fight while you go full dps with minor blights and then switch to controlling when your second wizard is out of spells. The problem with blast talents is that they are effective when there are many enemies, which means that you are probably not out of spells yet. It should work with Dangerous Implements as well. I'm not sure if the Blights themselves count as weapons for weapon focus purposes, but from what I've read the Minor Blights count as wands. Additionally, the blast talents only apply to wands, rods and scepters, (and Blights, apparently) so if you want to do that combo you're going to want to use one of those weapon types as your primary. I think optimal dps in longer engagements is a Wizard taking the blast talents that uses the Minor Blights spell (often coupled with other offense boosting spells, like Deleterious Alacrity and Eldritch Aim).
